It’s simple. I heart you my dear.
I made the sandwich using a very similar nifty tool that I bought at Target this week. At around $5 it’s a fun tool to play around with.

Before making bentos. Before becoming a mom. Before becoming a wife. I was a teacher and absolutely loved it. I love my students, I loved my coworkers and I loved that I felt like I had a purpose in life. I got paid to do what I loved. How many people can say that? As much as I loved all these things, I couldn’t bear to be away from my babies once they arrived. I stayed home with my babies for five years before I got the classroom bug again. I started off slowly; only working a few times a month at one school. A year later I decided to apply to a larger district and started working a few days a week. Well starting next week I will be teaching Kindergarten five days a week for three months. Back to full time teaching I go. While I have continued making bento lunches, I just haven’t had the time to photograph and blog about them. I still plan on blogging here and there, but it surely won’t be on the top of my to do list. I have to be honest with myself. I hope followers will continue to check in once in awhile, I will be back. Until then, happy bento making!

Finding a package in the mail is always a glorious treat, but receiving a package in a fun container takes it to another level.
Did you know that you can send really fun items via the USPS as long as they are 13 ounces or less? The grumpy mail clerks won’t even bat an eye when you gather the stamps to mail off your oh so clever goodies. From colored pencils and bouncy balls to sand toys and flips flips they will be delivered successfully! The trick is to make sure everything is clearly labeled, and 13 ounces or less.
What’s the strangest thing you have ever mailed?
Look at what arrived in our mail box today. Halloween gifts from Nana!
The kids couldn’t grab their bottles out of the mailbox fast enough. The bottles arrived in perfect condition and were shipped from Illinois to California. Using first class mail it only took two days for delivery.
So the trick here is to glue the lid and cut a trap door that is hidden under the label. The trap door is used to place your items into the bottle. Nana also used clear tape to wrap around the bottle to secure the trap door shut. Once it is closed and taped it is really hard to see it. All the better for the mystery of the bottle. My kids could not figure out how she got all the goodies through the small neck of the bottle.
My son took the scissors to his bottle. With some help from mom he was finally able to get it open.
Checking out her loot. It is amazing just how much can fit in one plastic bottle. Inside was a ton of candy, a Pez dispenser, stamps, a stamp pad, glow sticks and a glowing necklace. So much fun!
